I am sure over the last few weeks you’ve been overwhelmed by various online companies sending out privacy update notifications to comply with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation. I won’t bore you with explaining it, you can go here to learn more about that. If you can’t sleep…it will help.
Some of you may ask why Owner Insite hasn’t sent a similar email.
Bottom line, it’s pretty simple. We don’t work with companies outside of the United States. We don’t collect any personal information from our users. Just a name and an email address. So we don’t have a need to update and/or comply with this requirement as some companies, like Twitter, Netflix, Amazon and others do.
You likely are reading this because you were invited to join a project from one of our existing customers or signed up to use Owner Insite’s platform. In some cases, you may have been exploring whether Owner Insite might be a good fit for you or your team and that’s how we collected your name and email. You are not some random individual whose name we bought from a list (we have never done nor would ever do by the way) or whose business cards we collected to spam you. We take extreme care and caution with any data we collect on our users which again amounts to your name and email address. Not that we wouldn’t like to know you on a more personal level, we simply don’t collect any data about you personally that we store anywhere but in our heads.
If the EU wants to try and regulate what’s in our heads, well that’s a different matter but our team of crackerjack attorneys assure me we’re safe.
And to be clear, we would never sell email addresses for money. We’ll leave that to our competitors to do that when they get mad at you for not using their platforms. Petulant children. But I digress.
We are friends to any and all who happen upon our sacred Owner Insite platform and we want you to know that. And with that friend comes our protection. Protection of your name, your email and the endless secrets you will likely never ever share with us anyway.
So the crux of the matter is – Owner Insite doesn’t collect, farm or spam email addresses and so far as this new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is concerned, we have updated our privacy and data policy as follows:
We will not share your name, email or contact details to anyone, without your permission. Period.
But if you are still concerned with our company having your name and email address you may ask us at any time to remove your name and details from our software platform and email communication list by sending an email to email@example.com or calling us at 888-336-3393.
